He already worked with DM arranging strings on “Exciter”. But that was just an episode...
All began when Victor Indrizzo, a very good friend of Dave suggested him to get in touch with very famous NY musician Knox Chandler. Dave did it. And since that moment their collaboration began. Dave recalls about the atmosphere in the studio:” What was really cool about it was that we just had a lot of fun…Knox would start playing something, and it would inspire me. I had a bunch of lyrics that I had been writing for the past couple of years. Some of the stuff I used, and some of it just came about as we were working together. It really was a collaboration. I really enjoyed that… I worked with Victor, who played some drums... Knox would play a lot of stuff, like guitars, bass guitars and cello. He's got this set up, where it's like a space lab, with all of these effects. Nothing's ever normal with Knox. It's about building an atmosphere.”Oh, yeah! For Knox there were a really hardworking times. Before, in 2002 he toured with his old musicians “Siouxsie and the Banshees”, then together with Dave he recorded “Paper Monsters” and then back on the road – PM Tour. And once during the third leg of the PM Tour when Knox was a little down Dave had made the cape for Knox to cheer him up and make him feel special. The cape with the words SPECIAL K
